Al-Furqan University Faculty Member Co-Authors Pioneering Research on Knowledge Management in the Metaverse

Mr. Haitham Aneizan Owayn Al-Shammari, an Assistant Lecturer and Head of the Business Administration Department at Al-Furqan University, has contributed to a significant collaborative research endeavor focused on Knowledge Management within the Metaverse. This joint scientific study involved researchers from the University of Mosul and the Nineveh Health Directorate (Iraq), Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), and Mutah University (Jordan). The research paper is titled: “Knowledge management in metaverse: does knowledge storage matter as a factor affecting adoption and acceptance?” The study addresses the rapid transition towards digital environments, particularly highlighting the Metaverse as a promising domain for fundamentally reshaping educational methodologies and knowledge transfer processes. It explores key factors influencing the adoption of such technologies, including Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions. The research utilizes the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) framework to analyze the mechanisms underpinning user adoption and acceptance within these immersive virtual environments. This research has been accepted for publication in The International Journal of Organizational Analysis (IJOA). The journal is highly regarded and indexed in prominent global databases: Scopus: Ranked in the first quartile (Q1) with a CiteScore of 7.4. Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science): Ranked in the second quartile (Q2) with an Impact Factor of 2.9.
