The President of Al-Furqan University, Professor Dr. Abi Saeed Al-Diwachi, participated in the conference “The Role of Universities in Protecting and Promoting Cultural Diversity: The Joint Group for the Preservation of the Culture of the Peoples of the Middle East,” which was organized by the University of Duhok in partnership with the Institute of Development Studies and the British Council. This participation came in response to an invitation from the President of the University of Duhok, Professor Dr. Dawood Suleiman Al-Atrushi .
Al-Dioji participated among a group of speakers in two sessions, representing various trends and specializations in the environment. The session included numerous questions and discussions from the audience, and a film on the topic was screened. The conference was preceded by the publication of the book “The Handbook of Iraqi People’s Heritage,” which includes eleven chapters on various topics related to heritage, representing various forms of culture that emerge from cultural diversity. The book, published in English, is 374 pages long.
On the sidelines of the conference, the President of Al-Furqan University met with several participants, particularly Dr. Maryse Tadrouz from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, UK, with the aim of communicating and exchanging views and expertise through Al-Furqan University.
